Deendayal Port Hits 125 MMT Cargo, Sets New Benchmark
According to an official release, the milestone reflects the port’s operational excellence, robust infrastructure, efficient planning and seamless coordination among stakeholders, firmly positioning Kandla as a front-runner in India’s maritime sector.
Congratulating the port community, Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman of the Deendayal Port Authority, praised the collective efforts of stakeholders, port users, trade unions, officers, employees and shramiks for their dedication and cooperation in achieving the landmark performance. The port said the achievement further reinforces its role as a driver of India’s maritime growth and economic development.
Separately, the Deendayal Port Authority recently hosted a delegation from Denmark, aimed at strengthening cooperation in maritime sustainability. The delegation was led by Josefine Pallesen, Maritime Counsellor at the Embassy of Denmark. Discussions with the port leadership focused on pathways towards zero-carbon emissions, adoption of green technologies and opportunities for collaboration in sustainable port development.
During the interaction, the port authority highlighted its ongoing initiatives in decarbonisation, renewable energy integration, green fuels and environmentally responsible operations. Senior officials, including the Deputy Chairman and Chief Vigilance Officer, also outlined efforts to promote innovation, resilience and sustainability across port infrastructure and operations.
