BEML Wins Rs 1.86 Billion Defence Contract for 79 PAT Bulldozers

BEML Limited (Bharat Earth Movers Limited), a leading Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, announced it has been awarded a Rs 1.86 billion contract to supply 79 units of its flagship Power Angling & Tilting (PAT) bulldozers.
The PAT bulldozer showcases BEML’s cutting-edge engineering designed specifically for military applications. Featuring variable blade angling and tilting, it is capable of operating efficiently in rugged and snow-bound terrains, making it vital for national strategic operations.
This repeat order from the Ministry of Defence reflects continued confidence in BEML’s indigenous expertise, following the successful delivery of a previous contract for 66 PAT bulldozers that met stringent quality and timeline requirements.
The contract further supports the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, emphasising self-reliance in defence production. The PAT bulldozers are wholly designed, developed, and manufactured in India, contributing significantly to national security and boosting the domestic manufacturing sector.
Engineered for versatility and durability, the bulldozers assist the Indian Armed Forces with critical tasks including road and airstrip construction, fortifying military posts, snow clearance, and logistics in challenging terrains—ensuring operational readiness across diverse environments.
“We are honoured to receive this repeat order from the Ministry of Defence, reflecting confidence in BEML’s capabilities and commitment to quality,” said Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML Ltd.
