The Indian Navy will commission INS Aravali at Gurugram on 12 September 2025, in the presence of Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff.

INS Aravali, named after the steadfast Aravali mountain range, will support various information and communication centres of the Indian Navy. These facilities are vital to India’s and the Navy’s command, control and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) framework.

Guided by the motto ‘सामुद्रिकसुरक्षायाः सहयोगं’, meaning ‘Maritime Security through Collaboration’, the naval base embodies a spirit of cooperation, working in close coordination with naval units, MDA centres and allied stakeholders.

The base’s crest features the central mountain imagery, symbolising the unyielding strength of the Aravali Range, and a rising sun representing eternal vigilance, resilience and energy. It also signifies the dawn of advanced technological capabilities in communications and MDA. The crest reflects the base’s enduring commitment to ensuring vigilance and safeguarding India’s maritime interests.
