IIIT Hyderabad and Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) have signed an MoU to establish a Smart City Living Lab on the KIET campus, supporting the Kakinada Smart City Mission. The initiative will act as a testbed for deploying urban tech solutions including water quality monitoring, digital twin networks, and crowd tracking. Backed by the district administration, the lab will offer research-led learning, student internships, and real-time implementation of scalable smart city technologies for Kakinada.
