Flytta has unveiled India’s first retrofitted 13-ton electric truck for medium and heavy-duty industrial logistics. Custom-developed by Kalyani Powertrain Limited (KPTL), the truck is being deployed with Dalmia Cement for cement bag transportation across ghat roads and industrial terrains on the Yadwad–Goa corridor.
The initiative combines Flytta’s green logistics expertise, Kalyani’s EV retrofitting engineering, and Dalmia Cement’s sustainable supply chain efforts. The first fleet is operational, with plans to scale to nearly 200 retrofitted EV trucks, offering payloads from 13 to 40 tons across trucks, dumpers, and trailers for cement, steel, coal, metals, and minerals.
Rahul Kanuganti, CEO, Flytta, said: “This launch is a defining moment for industrial logistics in India. We are demonstrating how sustainable transport can deliver efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.”
Pankaj Sonalkar, MD, Kalyani Powertrain, added: “Our rugged, high-performance retrofitted EV truck shows how advanced engineering can accelerate India’s clean mobility transition.”
Srawan Agarwal, Assistant Executive Director of Logistics, Dalmia Cement, commented: “Adopting EVs in industrial transport reduces emissions and supports India’s energy self-sufficiency. Strengthened infrastructure and proactive EV policies will further accelerate this shift.”
