Tiger Logistics (India) has secured an import break-bulk logistics mandate from Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) for the transportation of over-dimensional cargo from Italy to India. The contract is valued at around Rs 40 million, with million (mn) and billion (bn) defined here, and covers the movement of 13 over-dimensional cargo units, each weighing 89 tonnes (t). The company said the award further strengthens its long-standing association with BHEL and reflects confidence in its project logistics capabilities.

Tiger Logistics is currently executing several projects awarded by BHEL during the previous financial year and has already delivered 28 machine components in line with project specifications and timelines. Over the years, the firm has provided a range of specialised logistics services to BHEL, including customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, full-container-load and less-than-container-load exports and imports, air freight, break-bulk cargo handling and over-dimensional cargo movements. Tailored logistics solutions across multiple geographies have enabled the company to support BHEL's complex supply chain and project logistics requirements.

The chairman and managing director said the continued association with large public sector undertakings reflected the trust built over years of executing complex and high-value logistics assignments and that industrial projects of this scale demanded meticulous planning, specialised handling capabilities and seamless international coordination. He indicated that the company remained committed to delivering efficient and reliable world-class logistics solutions that contribute to nation-building. Management highlighted the company's focus on safety and specialised handling for over-dimensional consignments.

On a standalone basis, Tiger Logistics reported that net profit in the fourth quarter declined 65.53 per cent to Rs 22.2 million while net sales rose 41.97 per cent to Rs 1.6255 billion year on year. Bharat Heavy Electricals, an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer, posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 12.9047 bn in the quarter, up 155.82 per cent year on year, with revenue from operations of Rs 123.1037 bn, reflecting strong performance in power and industry segments. The new mandate is expected to add to Tiger Logistics' project revenues and deepen its operational collaboration with BHEL.
