Union Minister of Jal Shakti C. R. Patil and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav, together with the Cabinet Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Prahlad Singh Patel, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari, JSJB two point zero, with all district collectors and divisional commissioners of the State. The meeting was organised by the National Water Mission, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The review focused on accelerating implementation of district level action plans for water conservation and sustainable management.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both the State and Central Governments including the Secretary of the Department of Water Resources, the Additional Secretary and Managing Director of the National Water Mission, and principal and additional chief secretaries overseeing water and rural departments. District collectors of Khandwa East Nimar, Rajgarh and Indore made detailed presentations outlining district level progress and roadmaps for JSJB two point zero. Presentations highlighted groundwater recharge, river rejuvenation and strengthened community participation in conservation initiatives.

Madhya Pradesh secured the fourth position nationally under JSJB one point zero and the district of Khandwa achieved the first rank among districts, reflecting strong local leadership and community engagement. The State has undertaken large scale water conservation in forest areas and launched the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan which has mobilised communities for revival of rivers and strengthening of local water sources. These initiatives were presented as models of how locally adapted interventions can contribute to sustainable groundwater recharge and river health.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reaffirmed State commitment to sustained water conservation and river cleanliness. Minister C. R. Patil urged districts to utilise funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for conservation before the monsoon and to strengthen community participation.
