During a meeting at the headquarters, the standing committee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) gave its approval to 18 proposals. The meeting, presided over by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, focused on various projects including the construction of toilets, property acquisition for road development, multi-purpose function halls, and sewerage diversion, among others.
Among the approved proposals, the most costly agenda involves the renovation of the PJR community hall, which will require a budget of Rs 55 million. Following that, the committee approved the construction of a multi-purpose function hall near the Ramgopalpet area, estimated to cost Rs 49 million.
Additionally, the GHMC granted approval to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Urban Loo company for the construction of toilets at several locations, including Gajularamaram, Bashirbagh, YMCA Narayanaguda, Monda Market, Telecom Nagar, Miyapur cross-road, Vanasthalipuram, LB Nagar X Road, and Kothapet signal. Urban Loo will also be responsible for the maintenance of these toilets for a period of 14 years.
Furthermore, the committee decided to cancel the previous administrative sanction of Rs 26 million for the diversion of a sewerage channel to Eerla Cheruvu in Madinaguda village. Instead, a short tender was approved for the diversion of the sewerage through a box drain, which is expected to cost Rs 27 million.
The committee also granted approval for the demolition of the old ward office at Khairatabad circle limits and the construction of a G+4 model ward office, estimated to cost Rs 43 million. The mayor directed the zonal commissioners to inspect all ward offices in order to streamline the new grievance redressal system.
