"Harsh Constructions (HCPL) has secured the contract for the construction of a new terminal building at Hubballi airport in Karnataka, emerging as the lowest bidder. The project, approved by the Central government in June 2023, aims to expand the airport's capacity to handle 2400 peak-hour passengers (1200 arrivals + 1200 departures).
The new terminal will boast a total built-up area of 20,000 square meters, equipped with four aerobridges and an expanded apron capable of accommodating six narrow-body aircraft like the A320. HCPL's bid, significantly below the estimated cost of Rs 260.22 crore and with a two-year completion deadline, emerged as the most competitive among eight bidders.
This development signifies a major step forward in enhancing Hubballi airport's capacity and improving passenger experience. With HCPL's expertise and competitive bid, the project is expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, marking a significant milestone for the airport's growth."
