Sahibabad-Duhai of RRTS package 1 section now completed

According to an official, Package 1 priority section between Sahibabad-Duhai of the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) built between Delhi and Meerut has been installed.

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) said that with the installation of the last span and completed the construction of the viaduct in the Package 1 priority section of RRTS.

The construction activities are ongoing in the 17 km priority section between Sahibabad-Duhai are being carried out in two packages. Package 1 between Sahibabad-Ghaziabad and Package 2 between Ghaziabad-Duhai.

The length of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is 82 km and is being built by the NCRTC.

NCRTC said that Package-1 had been installed near the steel span of RRTS constructed for crossing railway lines at Ghaziabad.

Installing of signalling and telecom systems in both these packages will now be accelerated. The section will have five stations, including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot.

The track laying work near the depot is being carried out. The first RRTS train shall arrive from Savli in Gujarat by the next month.

According to a statement, NCRTC aims to commence the trial run on the priority section by April end. It plans to commence the operation on the priority section by next year and commission the entire RRTS corridor by 2025.
