Master plan ready for Bengal biz township

01 Mar 2021

The West Bengal Government has prepared a master plan for the proposed industrial township in Raghunathpur and has started the process of seeking environmental clearance. Jangal Sundari Karmanagari, as the industrial park is to be called, will attract investments of Rs.11.48 bn for creating basic infrastructure. In the state budget presented by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in February, a special industrial corridor was proposed from Dankuni to Asansol via Burdwan-Durgapur on one side and Barjora-Bankura to Raghunathpur in Purulia district on the other side. The state’s first industrial township will be built on 2,483 acre of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation land at Raghunathpur.
