Rail corridors to link ports, industrial clusters

The Ministry of Railways has undertaken the development of both the Eastern (from Dankuni to Ludhiana) and Western (from JNPT to Tughlakabad or Dadri) Dedicated Freight Corridors. The three rail corridors comprise a total length of 452 km and entail an estimated cost of Rs 4,362 crore. The time-frame for the implementation of these projects has been set to five years in the MoU.
