AAI to invest Rs.12.17 bn for modernisation, expansion of Patna Airport

AAI is investing Rs.12.17 bn in the modernisation and expansion of Patna Airport, which once completed will have the capacity to handle 8 mn passengers per annum. Work on the project started last year, and is scheduled to be completed by March 2023. 

It includes construction of a new integrated terminal building with state-of-the-art facilities, cargo complex, multi-level car parking, air traffic control-cum-technical building, airport fire station, new apron with 14 aircraft parking bays. As an interim measure, the existing terminal building of the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport is being extended and modified. 
The airport is one of the country's fastest growing, with the existing terminal handling almost 4.5 mn passengers per annum.
