Karnataka to release Rs.500 mn for Mysuru airport expansion

The long-awaited expansion of Mysuru airport will now become a reality, as the Karnataka government has assured the release of Rs.500 mn for the first phase for the work. After the expected financial approval and clearance by the Centre’s Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) can fast track the runway extension and airport expansion project. The runway length is proposed to be increased to 2,750-m and width to 45-m to suit the operation of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
