Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has announced a new railway station to be built across from the Kilambakkam bus stop, between the Vandalur and Urapakkam stations. The construction has gained preliminary clearance from the local development authority after consultations with Southern Railway officials, and will be done by CMDA and Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA). Additionally, a skywalk connecting to the bus terminal will be built nearby.
