GMDA nods Dronacharya metro-Neelkanth hospital green belt on MG road
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GDMA) approved a green belt along MG Road between Dronacharya Metro Station and Neelkanth Hospital on Saturday, where several illegal structures had sprouted. GMDA officials told the media that around 50 illegally built small and large structures were demolished because they were built on the green belt in violation of the rules. Six eateries, four rooms, four mobile cafeterias, two nurseries, two-building material suppliers' shops, and several other illegally constructed structures were all removed from the green belt. Sandeep Lot, junior engineer, GMDA, told the media that after receiving complaints from residents about the illegal shops, vending machines, and eateries that had been built on the green belt, the authority took action against the illegal structures. Lot informed that during the drive, the green belt was illegally encroached upon, and all structures were removed. The owners were asked to remove their belongings and property first, and then the demolition began. Illegal structures along MG Road and in the surrounding areas of Sikanderpur will be demolished in the coming days, according to enforcement officials. Lot said that green belts and government land that has been encroached upon illegally will be cleared.They also ask residents to report any such structures that have been built illegally to the enforcement wings of various agencies.
