Coal India Signs Pact To Employ Ex-Servicemen Firms
The agreement aims to expand the participation of veteran-run enterprises in CIL’s logistics and operational activities, building on their proven track record in the sector.
Speaking at the event, CIL Chairman P.M. Prasad highlighted the contribution of ESM firms, noting that they already manage nearly 30 per cent of coal loading and transportation at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). “Ex-Servicemen companies have demonstrated exceptional discipline, reliability, and efficiency in our logistics chain. Their involvement helps enhance productivity and strengthen operational resilience,” he said.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Niten Chandra, IAS, Secretary (Ex-Servicemen Welfare), along with senior officials from CIL and the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW).
CIL stated that the collaboration reinforces its commitment to supporting national welfare initiatives while improving logistics performance through structured partnerships with Ex-Servicemen-led enterprises.
