Envision Energy India has announced a 300 MW order from UPC Renewables India for the supply of 60 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) from its EN 182 | 5 MW platform. UPC will deploy these high-performance turbines in upcoming wind projects in Karnataka. Definitive agreements for the first 20 turbines, totalling 100 MW, have already been signed, with deliveries scheduled early next year for power supply to SJVN from January 2027.

The EN 182 | 5 MW turbines will utilise strong monsoon wind flows and favourable terrain in Bijapur to generate an estimated 900 million units of renewable power annually. The platform features a rotor diameter of 182 metres and a hub height of 140 metres, designed specifically for Indian wind regimes. The 5 MW system delivers more than 40 per cent higher Annual Energy Output compared with the 3.3 MW model and aims to reduce Levelised Cost of Energy through optimised land use and fewer land parcels.

Alok Nigam, CEO, UPC Renewables India said the first 100 MW phase represented a key step in building momentum towards delivering more than 500 MW of wind capacity in Karnataka over the next three years. He said the company had chosen Envision for its proven track record in project execution.

UPC Renewables India is a joint venture of ACEN and UPC Renewables, operating 0.6 GWp of solar assets across three states and developing a 2 GW pipeline of wind, solar and battery energy storage projects over the next three years.
