Himachal Pradesh electricity board launches 50 KW rooftop solar project

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) has inaugurated a 50-kilowatt power (KWp) capacity rooftop solar project in Solan under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) by the Centre.

The project inauguration was done by the Power Minister, Sukh Ram, Himachal Pradesh and P K Singh, Director of commercial and projects, and Power Finance Corporation (PFC). Senior officials from HPSEB and PFC also attended the inauguration.

In total, 152 photovoltaic panels are installed, which will produce approximately 165 kWh of electricity daily, PFC stated. Under the IPDS scheme, a 1,107 KWp capacity rooftop solar project has been installed by HPSEB in the state till now.

PFC said that under the ongoing Go Green initiative, solar panels are installed in Uttar Pradesh of capacity 10 MWp, Karnataka of capacity 8 MWp, Kerala 5 MWp capacity, West Bengal 4 MWp, Uttrakhand 3 MWp capacity, and in Himachal Pradesh 1 MWp capacity.
