JSW Signs PPA for Solar + Battery Project

JSW Energy, through its step-down subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Forty Five, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) for a 100 MW grid-connected solar project integrated with a 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The PPA, signed for a period of 25 years, is fixed at a tariff of Rs 4.31 per kWh.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the project will be developed at a designated site and connected to the 220/400 kV KPTCL Firozabad substation in Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.

With this agreement, JSW Energy’s total locked-in energy storage capacity has increased to 29.4 GWh — comprising 3.0 GWh of BESS and 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage. The company remains on track to meet its target of 40 GWh energy storage capacity by 2030.
