L&T Secures Key Role in TenneT’s Landmark Offshore Wind Programme

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has achieved a major milestone in its offshore wind business by securing a key role in the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) offshore wind programme of TenneT, the Dutch–German transmission system operator.

In collaboration with Hitachi Energy, L&T will deliver advanced HVDC converter stations to integrate large-scale renewable energy into the European grid, particularly across the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea. The initiative reinforces L&T’s position as a vital contributor to the global energy transition.

S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director, L&T, said the partnership underscores customer confidence in L&T’s ability to deliver complex, technology-intensive infrastructure projects with a focus on safety and sustainability.

Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director and President, L&T, added that the collaboration validates L&T’s engineering and project management expertise in executing large-scale renewable energy solutions.

With strong multidisciplinary capabilities and world-class fabrication facilities, L&T continues to strengthen its global footprint in offshore wind infrastructure.
