Maharashtra Invites EOI For 115 Megawatt Floating Solar And BESS

The Water Resources Department of the Government of Maharashtra has invited an expression of interest for development of a 115 megawatt (MW) floating solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Manjara Dam in Kaij Taluka, Beed district. The project is to be developed, operated, maintained and managed on a public?private partnership basis and is intended to utilise the reservoir surface for clean energy generation while supporting state renewable targets. The notice was issued through the Executive Engineer, Latur Irrigation Division Number one, Latur.

The preliminary notice also invites interest in leasing specified reservoir areas for fisheries and aquaculture activities under the Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation. Interested developers and empanelled bidders may access tender documents via the Maharashtra government e?tendering portal and follow the outlined procedures for downloading documents and seeking clarifications. The process to download documents and to submit queries opened on August 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM and the deadline for clarifications is August 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM. Bids are required to be submitted by September 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM.

A pre?bid meeting is scheduled for August 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the office of the Chief Engineer and Chief Administrator, Command Area Development, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Headquarters in Nanded. Bids will be opened on September 4, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Executive Engineer’s office in Latur and will remain valid for 180 days. The preliminary notification does not specify the earnest money deposit or performance bank guarantee requirements and bidders have been advised to consult the detailed EOI documents for financial and technical conditions. Conditional bids will be rejected and the department reserves the right to accept or to reject any proposal.

The initiative is intended to support Maharashtra’s renewable energy and energy storage goals. Prospective applicants should review the full EOI documents and comply with submission requirements.
