TGREDCO Seeks 2,000 MW of Renewable Energy in Telangana

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) to procure 2,000 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock (FDRE-RTC) power for the state’s distribution companies, known as TGDISCOMs. The tender allows Renewable Energy Power Developers (RPDs) to supply electricity from projects located anywhere in India.

Issued on October 13, 2026, the tender is identified by reference number TGREDCO/Plg/PP/2026-27/003 and search code TGREDCO-2026-TN000006 on the electronic tendering portal. Developers can obtain the tender documents, pre-bid meeting information and submission deadlines through the ISN-ETS portal and the TGREDCO website.

Selected bidders will sign Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 25 years from the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date. The procurement requires renewable generation to be integrated with Energy Storage Systems (ESS), enabling contracted electricity supplies to be firm and dispatchable. Projects will be developed under the Build-Own-Operate model, with developers responsible for construction, ownership and operation.

Bidders can offer a minimum contracted capacity of 50 MW and a maximum of 1,000 MW. The cost of the RfS document is Rs. 50,000, excluding applicable Goods and Services Tax. An Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) will be calculated at Rs. 20,000 per MW of quoted capacity, subject to a maximum of Rs. 2 mn, including applicable tax provisions.

The tender also provides an alternative EMD calculation based on installed capacity. The rates are Rs. 0.97 mn per MW for solar capacity, Rs. 1.37 mn per MW for wind or other renewable capacity, and Rs. 0.24 mn per MWh for storage capacity. Deposits may be submitted through a Bank Guarantee, Payment on Order Instrument or Insurance Surety Bond. Successful bidders must provide a Performance Bank Guarantee before signing the PPA, valid until nine months after the supply commencement date. The bidding process will use a single-stage, two-envelope system, followed by an electronic reverse auction to determine tariffs.
