Battery storage is mandatory with lithium ferro phosphate batteries specified. Batteries must provide a minimum 90 per cent depth of discharge, exceed 3,000 cycles and carry a minimum seven-year warranty. The tender requires 3,840 Wh of battery energy capacity per kW, so a one kW plant would need 3,840 Wh and a two kW plant 7,680 Wh.
Technical specifications require crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, a hybrid inverter, battery storage and associated protection equipment. The inverter must export surplus solar power to the grid and disconnect to operate in island mode during grid failures, with automatic start-up, synchronisation and maximum power point tracking capability. Communications and protections including RS485, RS232, Wi-Fi and standard grid interconnection and islanding safeguards are required, with output options of 415 V three-phase or 230 V single-phase at 50 Hz.
The scope covers supply, installation, testing and commissioning including mounting, junction boxes, cabling, earthing, lightning protection and remote monitoring, and the contractor will provide operation and maintenance. The tender provides a comprehensive five-year maintenance period while battery warranties must extend to at least seven years. Bidders must demonstrate prior performance of 300 kW for Categories A and B and 150 kW for Category C, with average annual turnover thresholds of Rs 31.0 mn, Rs 28.9 mn and Rs 14.1 mn respectively, and projects are to be completed within four months of work order issue.
