Airfloa Rail Technology Wins Rs 26.8 mn ICF Chennai Order
Airfloa Rail Technology is primarily engaged in the manufacture of components used in rolling stock for Indian Railways and supplies through railway production units such as the Integral Coach Factory and other coach factories. The firm also undertakes turnkey interior furnishing projects and serves other railway factories as well as global rolling stock original equipment manufacturers. In the aerospace and defence sectors, the company manufactures intricate, highly engineered and critical components, positioning it to bid for specialist contracts across sectors.
For the year ended 31 March 2025, the company reported revenue from operations of Rs 1.9239 billion (bn) and a net profit of Rs 255.6 million, reflecting continued commercial traction in its core markets. The revenue figure is from company accounts and will be relevant as the firm expands its furnishing and component businesses. Shares of Airfloa Rail Technology fell 1.39 per cent to end at Rs 301.50 on the day the order was disclosed, indicating a muted market reaction. The contract is expected to contribute to near-term revenue visibility for the company.
Execution of the ICF contract will be overseen under the stipulated Indian Railways contract framework and will undergo third-party inspection before final acceptance. Management indicated that such orders form part of a pipeline of small and medium sized furnishing projects that support capacity utilisation at the company facilities. The delivery schedule and inspection regimen are likely to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards demanded in rolling stock interiors. The order reinforces the firm's positioning in the interior furnishing niche for rail coaches.
