LTM Joins IIT Kharagpur To Build AI Training Programmes

LTM, a Larsen and Toubro Group company, has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) to design deep dive training programmes aimed at enhancing workforce skills in artificial intelligence. The collaboration combines LTM's industry expertise with IIT Kharagpur's academic and research leadership to build future ready AI capabilities. The programmes will include targeted learning modules, hands on workshops, and collaborative research initiatives to systematically upskill and reskill employees to meet evolving industry and client demands.

LTM's AI transformation reflects the convergence of deep domain expertise and technology capabilities, driving continuous upskilling and reskilling across the workforce. The targeted programmes will be delivered through modular coursework, practical problem solving sessions, and capstone projects that simulate client scenarios. Participants will gain applied knowledge in data driven methods, machine learning workflows, and deployment practices relevant to industry use cases.

LTM's chief delivery officer Gururaj Deshpande described the collaboration as a commitment to talent transformation that combines academic excellence with real world application and said continuous skill development is essential for workforce relevance, resilience and preparedness in an AI driven landscape. Prof Niloy Ganguly, head of the department of computer science and engineering at IIT Kharagpur, said the institute would work closely with LTM to create and offer learning programmes and research opportunities in artificial intelligence and related domains. The partners indicated that initiatives will be aligned with client priorities and that curricula may be refined as technology and market requirements evolve.
