Aerolloy, wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, announced completion of installation and hot and cold trials of its 4500/5100 t Intelligent Open Die Forging System at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex (SMTC) in Lucknow Node of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor. Engineered for precision, scale and intelligence, the press can forge Titanium, Superalloys and a wide range of advanced high-performance alloys for next-generation aeroengines, defence platforms, space propulsion systems and industrial gas turbines.

The addition represents a transformational expansion of Aerolloy’s manufacturing ecosystem and completes a rare domestic trifecta by bringing melting, casting and forging together under one roof. The company had previously commissioned a Vacuum Induction Melting furnace for Superalloy castings and a Vacuum Arc Remelting VAR 400 furnace for large Titanium castings, and the new forging capability closes the loop from raw alloy production to finished component.

Company executives described the milestone as a significant step towards import substitution and supply chain resilience, noting that each t forged locally reduces dependency on imports and strengthens India’s strategic position in aerospace manufacturing. The integration is expected to create efficiency, cost competitiveness and quality control for international original equipment manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers seeking a single source for complex critical materials and components.

Market demand for aerospace-grade forged Titanium and Superalloy components is expanding rapidly, valued in bn dollars annually, driven by commercial aviation, defence programmes and space exploration, which positions Aerolloy to capture domestic and international opportunities. The move aligns with PTC’s long-term strategy of building a fully integrated advanced materials ecosystem at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
