Andhra Pradesh has set an October-end deadline to convert 80 per cent of the Partnership Summit-2025 memoranda of understanding and ground 75 per cent of projects approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB). The targets are intended to accelerate investments, industrial growth and job creation across the state.

Industries and commerce nodal secretary N Yuvaraj, Information Technology and Electronics secretary Katamneni Bhaskar, and Infrastructure and Investments secretary Kona Sasidhar outlined the targets at a collectors’ conference chaired by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada. Of 463 Partnership Summit memoranda, 198 have been converted, while 172 require accelerated action. The remaining proposals represent about Rs. 5.54 tn in investment and 540,000 jobs.

Of 359 SIPB projects, 160 have been grounded and 109 more require action. These projects involve investment of Rs. 6.35 tn and nearly 200,000 jobs. Yuvaraj said 88,678 acres had been requisitioned for industry since June 2024, but only 22,533 acres had been acquired. Of 30,223 acres of government land requisitioned, 12,754 acres had been handed over to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), leaving 17,469 acres pending.

Collectors were instructed to expedite land clearances, deletions under Section 22-A and APIIC mutations. Fortnightly District Investment and Export Promotion Committee meetings will monitor approvals and resolve bottlenecks. The state has 2,385,000 micro, small and medium enterprises, including 2,366,000 micro, 18,173 small and 1,097 medium units. Of 175 planned MSME parks, 138 have approvals, 116 have received foundation stones and 22 are operational.

Bhaskar said Andhra Pradesh was targeting 6.5 GW of data-centre capacity by 2030 and required about 1,000 acres for information technology and Global Capability Centre parks in Visakhapatnam. A regional growth plan will focus on data centres, Global Capability Centres and medical technology in Visakhapatnam; quantum and advanced technology in Amaravati; and electronics, semiconductors, automobile electronics, Space City and Drone City projects in Rayalaseema. The Quantum Computing Centre is being prepared for IBM machine deployment by October 15, while 250 acres has been sought for a Quantum Hardware Park. Sasidhar said 25,662 acres for ports, fishing harbours and airports was under acquisition or alienation. Four greenfield ports are targeted for completion between March 2027 and September 2028. National highway projects covering 1,408 km are valued at Rs. 1.19 tn, while 42 railway projects spanning 2,678 km are estimated at Rs. 467.89 bn. A further 343 road overbridges and road underbridges are valued at Rs. 133.05 bn.
