Infosys Limited (Infosys) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) have completed a major data modernisation programme for CSX Corporation (CSX), delivering a unified cloud-native platform to replace fragmented legacy systems. The implementation, carried out in partnership with CSX and involving Infosys Topaz and Microsoft Fabric, is among the largest of its kind in the transportation and logistics sector. The initiative was announced on February 24, 2026, with teams in Jacksonville and Bengaluru contributing to end-to-end delivery.\n\nThe platform consolidated CSX's data landscape and established automated governance across 28 domains, with more than 170 data products created to support AI accelerators and self-service analytics. Reporting and analytics were reworked to reduce duplication, with the migration resulting in the consolidation of over 50,000 legacy reports into 1,200 actionable insights and substantial automation of routine tasks. Azure monitoring and Microsoft Purview were integrated to provide observability and metadata governance across the estate.\n\nCSX achieved significant annual infrastructure savings and a foundation for predictive analytics, predictive maintenance and logistics optimisation that is intended to support enterprise-wide operational intelligence. The modernised environment is expected to accelerate reporting, improve decision making and reduce operational costs while enabling faster time-to-insight for critical business domains. The work aims to position CSX to adopt AI-driven capabilities across maintenance, operations and customer service.\n\nInfosys led the end-to-end modernisation and said the programme reflected long-standing collaboration with Microsoft, including joint design and early access to product features. Infosys noted it employs 330,000 people and supports clients in 63 countries, drawing on four decades of experience in digital transformation. The companies said the deployment will be available for viewing on the corporate website and will support CSX's future data and AI ambitions.
