Delhi to Launch Karmik Sewa Kendras for Workers

The Delhi Government has announced plans to establish ‘Karmik Sewa Kendras’ across the city to support construction workers through easier registration and access to welfare schemes. Modelled on Passport Seva Kendras, the centres are intended to improve service delivery for both migrant and local labourers.

Officials said the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has started the process of appointing an agency to design and develop 13 static and 13 mobile centres. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 30 lakh people, particularly workers from vulnerable groups, including migrants and those employed in the unorganised sector.
