DMRC Launches Hydrogen Shuttle Bus Service in Central Vista
The shuttle will provide last-mile connectivity between Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth metro stations and will call at key government offices and landmarks across the Central Vista precinct. Service will run on working days from Monday to Friday excluding gazetted holidays during peak office hours between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm and from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Services will operate with a frequency of one bus every 30 minutes, with one bus running clockwise and the other anti-clockwise.
The route will cover Kartavya Bhawan, Vigyan Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, Akbar Road, Baroda House, the National Stadium, the National Gallery of Modern Art, India Gate and Seva Teerth station among other stops. Passengers will be able to pay fares through the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), UPI and cash, and fares have been fixed at stage-wise rates of Rs 10 and Rs 15. DMRC indicated that ticketing technology will be integrated with existing metro systems to ensure seamless transfers.
The initiative is intended to encourage public transport usage among government employees and to strengthen last-mile connectivity within the Central Vista precinct. Buses fitted with GPS tracking and CCTV will be monitored by DMRC staff to manage schedules and passenger safety. DMRC will oversee the service and assess operational performance for possible expansion at other sites.
