Hindustan Zinc contributed Rs 188.46 billion to the public exchequer in FY 2025-26, according to its 9th Tax Transparency Report. The contribution, equivalent to 46 per cent of the company’s revenue, included direct and indirect taxes, government royalties, dividends to the Government of India, withholding taxes and other statutory levies.

The company’s five-year cumulative contribution to the exchequer stood at Rs 915.72 billion. In FY26, Hindustan Zinc reported revenue of Rs 408.44 billion, EBITDA of Rs 221.62 billion and profit after tax of Rs 138.32 billion. It also achieved its highest-ever mined metal production of 1,114 kt, while silver production stood at 627 tonnes.

Key FY26 contributions included Rs 66.37 billion in indirect taxes, Rs 50.73 billion in government royalties, including DMF and NMET contributions, and Rs 45.52 billion in taxes on income. The company also contributed Rs 11.80 billion as dividend to the Government of India, Rs 7.55 billion in withholding taxes and Rs 6.49 billion through other tax categories.

The report is broadly aligned with the GRI 207: Tax 2019 framework and guided by EITI and ICMM-SeRF principles. Hindustan Zinc also engaged a Big 4 audit firm for independent assurance. The company ranked first globally in the Metals & Mining sector for the third consecutive year in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025.
