INOXAP Flags Off India’s First LNG-Fuelled Cryogenic Tanker

INOX Air Products (INOXAP) recently flagged off India’s first LNG-fuelled cryogenic tanker approved by Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation, following a policy amendment by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to the Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules, 2016. The move positions INOXAP as the first industrial gas manufacturer in the country to deploy LNG as a transport fuel for cryogenic applications.

The tanker, equipped with a 450-litre LNG fuel tank manufactured by INOX India, is expected to cut CO? emissions by up to 25 per cent and reduce particulate emissions by 95 per cent, while delivering quieter and more efficient operations. The milestone reflects the Government’s push to promote LNG as a cleaner transport fuel.

Designed and manufactured in Gujarat, both the cryogenic tanker and LNG fuel tank support a localised supply chain, serving customers primarily within the state and reinforcing Make in India-led sustainable industrial logistics.
