Minda Corp, Toyodenso Form JV for Auto Switches in India

Minda Corporation Limited, the flagship of the Spark Minda Group, has entered into a joint venture with Japan-based Toyodenso Co. to manufacture advanced automotive switches for the Indian market. The new venture will offer end-to-end solutions encompassing design, development, manufacturing, and marketing of automotive switches across two-wheeler, passenger car, and other vehicle segments.

Minda Corporation will hold a 60 per cent majority stake in the joint venture, with Toyodenso owning the remaining 40 per cent. The partnership has already secured customer orders in India. A greenfield facility will be established in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with commercial operations expected to begin in the second half of financial year 2026–27.

This collaboration aligns with Minda Corp’s strategy to expand its synergistic product portfolio and localise advanced technologies for the Indian automotive sector. While Toyodenso brings advanced engineering and global technological expertise, Minda Corporation will leverage its experience in local manufacturing, supply chain management, and customer relationships.

Mr Ashok Minda, Chairman and Group CEO of Minda Corporation, commented, “We are excited to partner with Toyodenso, a company with a strong legacy of innovation. This joint venture is a major step in our journey towards smart mobility solutions and strengthening indigenous manufacturing by integrating world-class technologies into India’s automotive landscape.”

Mr Kiyoshi Koide, President of Toyodenso Co., Ltd., added, “This partnership will help Toyodenso stabilise its business base and expand our focus on manufacturing and sales of automotive components in India—a key growth market.”

The venture is expected to play a critical role in meeting the increasing demand for advanced automotive switches, supporting India’s evolving mobility ecosystem.
