Pace Digitek (Pace) has established a battery research and development centre in Pune, India, as part of its Asia Pacific operations. The centre will combine laboratory testing, cell engineering and systems integration to support product development across transport and stationary storage. The company described the facility as a strategic investment in domestic capability and innovation. It will serve as a hub for cross functional teams across research, development and commercial engineering.

The R and D centre will host multidisciplinary teams to accelerate materials research, thermal management solutions and battery management software. It will provide facilities for prototype assembly, performance validation and safety testing under controlled conditions. The initiative is intended to shorten development cycles and to bridge laboratory research and commercial manufacturing.
