Pace Digitek has secured an order worth Rs 702 crore (Rs 7.02 billion, Rs 7.02 bn) from Damodar Valley Corporation to implement a 250 MW / 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Maithon in Jharkhand. The contracts include supply, erection and long-term operation and maintenance and mark the company's first BESS order for the fiscal year 2027. The project will add grid scale storage capacity and support system stability.

The combined contract value including GST covers a supply contract, engineering procurement and construction services and a long-term O&M agreement. The scope encompasses design, engineering, manufacturing linked supply, installation, testing and commissioning and a 12-year comprehensive O&M arrangement together with associated civil, structural and evacuation infrastructure works. The company will be responsible for integrated delivery and performance across disciplines. Project timelines will be aligned with grid connection milestones and quality control standards.

This order builds on strong momentum in the prior fiscal year when Pace Digitek reported energy order inflows of Rs 5,814.7 crore (Rs 58.147 billion, Rs 58.147 bn), driven by increasing traction in BESS and renewable linked opportunities. The company reported substantial energy sector wins in FY2026 that established a platform for further storage engagements. Market observers note increasing demand for grid balancing and flexibility services. The development complements national trends towards integrating storage with renewable generation.

The Maithon award requires close coordination with Damodar Valley Corporation on site works and commissioning schedules and will require mobilisation of technical and project management resources. The contract reinforces Pace Digitek's position in the energy segment and will influence the company's order book and delivery pipeline in the coming years. The company will fulfil contractual and regulatory obligations associated with project execution.
