Prostarm Secures Rs 1.65 Billion EPC Subcontract for 50 MW MAHAGENCO Project
Prostarm is based in Maharashtra while Solarium is headquartered in Gujarat and has diversified into module manufacturing following its public listing. The subcontract covers detailed design, civil and electrical works, procurement of major equipment and project management through to commissioning. The company said delivery will include the three years of post commissioning maintenance accounted within the contract.
Prostarm recently secured contracts for battery energy storage system projects and engaged Delta Electronics for engineering and supply on capacity totalling 110 MW across India. Earlier awards included a 150 MW by 300 megawatt hour standalone battery energy storage system tender from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited. The firm has also announced plans to establish a battery energy storage system manufacturing facility in Haryana.
The award comes as several large scale solar orders are moving through Maharashtra, with Pace Digitek having won a contract valued at approximately Rs 9.30 billion and Bondada Engineering receiving an award of about Rs 4.65 billion for separate grid connected plants. These developments underline continued investment by state utilities in renewable capacity and related infrastructure for evacuation to local transmission and distribution networks. Industry participants said the pipeline of projects is expected to support local manufacturing and supply chain activity.
