Hindustan Zinc Limited has said that its Rampura Agucha Mine has become India’s first Zinc Mark certified mine, marking a significant step in responsible production. Rampura Agucha, the world’s largest underground zinc-lead mine, secured certification under the Zinc Mark framework which validates responsible zinc production against internationally benchmarked environmental, social and governance standards. The recognition underlines the company’s focus on traceable supply chains and responsible sourcing.\n\nThe Zinc Mark followed an independent third-party assessment under the Copper Mark Assurance Framework that confirmed conformance with key environmental, social and governance criteria. The company presented the Zinc Mark as a means to help customers meet evolving ESG commitments and regulatory expectations.\n\nHindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and ranks among the top ten silver producers globally. The company supplies to more than 40 countries and holds a market share of about 74 per cent in India’s primary zinc market.
