Tejas Networks has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation to explore collaboration on digital infrastructure and telecommunications solutions. The agreement aims to promote the deployment of indigenous networking technologies and to identify pilot projects across the state. The companies will jointly evaluate opportunities in optical fibre networks, broadband access and network modernisation that support government digital initiatives. It will also seek to accelerate local research and development and to reduce project delivery times.\n\nThe memorandum provides a framework for joint technical assessments, testing and proof of concept deployments. It also envisages sharing of technical expertise and support for regulatory and operational clearances where required. Both parties will work to align project timelines with state digital transformation priorities. The partners will coordinate with state agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure integration with existing programmes.\n\nUnder the arrangement, the partners will consider establishing demonstration sites and training hubs to build local capability. The initiative is intended to support workforce development through targeted training, certification programmes and hands on exposure for engineers and technicians. Emphasis will be placed on interoperability, standards compliance and scalable deployment models. The initiative will include mechanisms to monitor performance, quality and compliance with technical standards.\n\nOfficials described the collaboration as a measure to fast track technology adoption and to strengthen the domestic supply chain for telecommunications equipment. The memorandum sets out a process for periodic review and for identifying commercially viable projects for rapid implementation. A joint steering committee will oversee implementation and report progress at regular intervals. Both sides will now move to define project plans, resource commitments and timelines for initial pilots.
