Steel Ministry Schedules Open House on Import Norms

The Ministry of Steel will host an Open House on 29–30 July 2025 at the Steel Room, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, to discuss issues related to Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS), Quality Control Orders (QCOs), and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for steel imports.
Companies and industry associations are invited to present their concerns by securing a time slot via email at tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in. Specific time slots will be allocated through email communication, and walk-ins will not be allowed due to logistical limitations.
Each industry association may request one time slot to represent member-related issues. A maximum of 15 participants per association is permitted due to space constraints.
Interested parties should include the following details in their email:
  • Name of company/association
  • Subject (SIMS/NOC/QCO/others)
  • Names and number of proposed participants
  • Preferred date (29 or 30 July 2025)
  • SIMS/NOC application reference (if applicable)
  • Industry and product type (e.g., Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, Defence)
  • Brief issue summary (max. 50 words)
  • Nodal contact person's mobile number and email
The Open House will run from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. The Ministry encourages all stakeholders facing import-related challenges under SIMS, QCOs, or NOC regulations to participate by submitting their request and securing a confirmed time slot.
