Steel Ministry to Hold Open House on Import-Related Issues

The Ministry of Steel will conduct an Open House on 19 August 2025 at the Steel Room, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, to discuss issues related to the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS), Quality Control Orders (QCOs), and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for steel imports. Companies and industry associations may present their concerns during the session.

To participate, organisations must email tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in to secure a confirmed time slot. The request must be sent by noon on 14 August 2025 and include the following details:
  • Name of the company/association
  • Issue category (SIMS/NOC/QCO/others)
  • Name and designation of the participant (third-party representation not allowed)
  • Reference of SIMS/NOC application, if applicable
  • Industry type and product (e.g., Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, Defence)
  • Brief description of the issue (maximum 50 words)
  • Contact details of the nodal person (mobile and e-mail)

The Open House will run from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with specific slots allocated via email. Walk-ins will not be allowed due to logistical constraints, and only one representative per organisation will be permitted to ensure broader participation.
