YEIDA speeds up land purchase for Apparel Park project

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has fast-tracked the acquisition of the remaining 94 acres of land for its Apparel Park project in Sector 29, officials confirmed. The move aims to address land shortage issues and ensure timely completion of the major industrial initiative.

YEIDA Chief Executive Officer R K Singh said the authority is committed to completing the project on schedule to promote business growth and generate large-scale employment, particularly for young people.

“We have expedited the purchase of the remaining land so that the Apparel Park becomes operational as per schedule,” Singh stated.

Out of the total 175 acres designated for the Apparel Park, 81 acres have already been allotted to investors. So far, 65 lease deeds have been executed, 61 allottees have completed registration formalities, and 43 have taken possession of their plots. Building plans for 16 units have been approved, with construction work underway at seven sites.

Officials noted that completing the remaining land acquisition will help YEIDA deliver pending projects and speed up the development of essential infrastructure in the sector. Once the land is fully secured, YEIDA plans to launch a new plot allotment scheme for textile and garment industries.

The project has drawn strong investor interest, particularly from export-focused apparel firms, due to its proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, which promises enhanced logistics and connectivity.

Designed as a self-contained industrial ecosystem, the Apparel Park is expected to generate over 300,000 jobs, with 70 per cent of them for women, and will integrate manufacturing, packaging, testing, and export facilities.

Once completed, the project is set to reinforce Gautam Budh Nagar’s position as a major garment manufacturing hub.
