New Amrit Bharat Express Launched Between Nagercoil And Mangaluru

The Nagercoil Junction–Mangaluru Junction–Nagercoil Junction Amrit Bharat Weekly Express is among the new trains flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23, enhancing rail connectivity between southern states.

According to Southern Railway, the Ministry of Railways has approved the introduction of Train No. 16329/16330 on the Nagercoil–Mangaluru route. The inaugural service was operated as a special train from Thiruvananthapuram Central as Train No. 06329 at 10.45 a.m., reaching Mangaluru Junction at 1.00 a.m. on January 24.

The train comprises 11 general second-class coaches, eight sleeper-class coaches, one generator car and one luggage-cum-brake van, offering increased capacity for passengers travelling between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Regular services of Train No. 16329/16330 will be notified separately by the Railways. Under the approved schedule, Train No. 16329 will depart Nagercoil Junction every Tuesday at 11.40 a.m. and arrive at Mangaluru Junction at 5.00 a.m. on Wednesday. Train No. 16330 will depart Mangaluru Junction every Wednesday at 8.00 a.m. and reach Nagercoil Junction at 10.05 p.m. the same day.

The introduction of the Amrit Bharat Express is expected to improve regional connectivity, support passenger demand and strengthen inter-state travel across southern India.
