The Ministry of Railways is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at the Railway Board, in line with the nation-wide initiative led by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The observance aims to strengthen integrity, transparency, and accountability within public administration.

The week-long event began with an integrity pledge administered by Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Satish Kumar, to all officers and staff members. The oath ceremony was attended both physically and virtually by senior officials across various directorates of the ministry. The observance will continue from 27 October to 2 November 2025.

The theme for this year, as announced by the CVC, is “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” It underscores the importance of ethical conduct, transparent governance, and the collective effort required to build a corruption-free organisation.

In his address, Satish Kumar highlighted the vital role of vigilance in ensuring good governance and urged all officers to uphold values of honesty, efficiency, and public service. He also pointed to several digital and systemic reforms introduced by Indian Railways to enhance transparency and curb malpractice.

Throughout the week, the Vigilance Directorate of the Railway Board will host a series of initiatives — including seminars, workshops, poster campaigns, and interactive sessions — to promote preventive vigilance and ethics in public service.
