Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala has produced its first 19-coach LHB rake for Bangladesh Railway under a 2024 order placed with RITES for 200 broad-gauge passenger coaches in seven variants. The rake includes AC sleeper, AC chair, non-AC chair and power cars. Design modifications include strengthened roofs, improved crashworthiness, CCTV surveillance and a 415 V electrical system suited to Bangladesh Railway requirements. The 200 coaches are scheduled for phased induction between June 2026 and December 2027.
