As per news reports, Japanese firm Ocean Network Express (ONE) is exploring container operations from Goa’s Mormugao Port post-monsoon. ONE’s senior leadership, including MD Masahiro Sakikubo, assessed containerhandling facilities at Delta Ports’ terminal. The port authority assured support and incentives to facilitate operations. Delta Ports is also in talks with Shipping Corporation of India to include Mormugao in its SMILE network. The move is expected to reduce road transport dependency and help local exporters, particularly MSMEs, gain global access at lower logistics costs.
