NTPC Renewable Energy To Build 250 MW Solar Project At Sitapur
Power produced by the installation will be utilised by various defence establishments across Uttar Pradesh and is intended to reduce dependence on conventional grid supply during critical periods. The location on vacant defence land is intended to optimise land use while minimising competing civilian land requirements. Integration of the BESS will allow the project to store generation for use during demand peaks or grid disruptions, improving reliability for defence operations.
NTPC REL has disclosed the proposal under regulatory listing obligations and has filed the related press release with the stock exchanges for transparency and record purposes. The company presented the proposal as aligning with its mandate to expand renewable capacity and to deliver energy solutions tailored to institutional customers. The initiative reflects a broader shift towards incorporating storage with renewable generation to provide dispatchable clean energy.
The project is expected to contribute to regional decarbonisation objectives while enhancing operational preparedness of defence establishments by providing a dedicated renewable supply. NTPC Green Energy Limited anticipates that the scheme will serve as a model for similar collaborations between defence agencies and renewable developers. The company indicated that further implementation details and timelines will be communicated through formal disclosures.
