Evren Signs 750 Megawatt PPA With NTPC

Evren, a platform backed by Brookfield in India, has signed a 750 megawatt (MW) power purchase agreement with NTPC for a hybrid renewable energy project that will combine solar, wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) components across Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. The PPA covers capacity across multiple sites in the two states and is among the largest renewable project agreements secured by capacity in India. The company described the agreement as a significant milestone in its growth trajectory.

The deal strengthens Evren's renewable portfolio in India to an 11 gigawatt (GW) pipeline, of which over three point five GW is under construction across solar, wind and battery storage projects. The pipeline expands the platform's presence in utility-scale generation and storage and aims to support grid reliability and capacity targets. Evren said it will leverage established engineering and project management capabilities to execute the programme.

The project, once operational, is expected to generate two point five billion (bn) units of clean energy annually and to mitigate one point eight million (mn) tonne (t) of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The anticipated output will contribute to the supply of clean electricity for industrial and commercial customers under long-term offtake arrangements. Company executives said the scale of the award underlines investor confidence and market demand for hybrid renewable solutions.

Evren focuses on developing, owning and operating utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage assets in India and is positioned to deliver integrated solutions at scale. The platform is intended to act as a long-term partner for customers seeking reliable sustainable power. Brookfield provides the financial backing and strategic support for Evren's further expansion.
