Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a three-day North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on four May 2026 under the theme Raksha Triveni Sangam, which frames the convergence of technology, industry and soldiering. The event is being jointly organised by the Northern Command and the Central Command of the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM). Organisers present the symposium as a platform to accelerate acquisition of indigenous capabilities and to familiarise defence personnel with emerging solutions.

The exhibition will feature participants from micro, small and medium enterprises, private defence technology firms, start-ups and innovators in uniform from across the country. 284 companies are setting up stalls to showcase their latest innovations and technologies, with demonstrations intended to highlight operational utility and maintainability. The programme seeks to identify technologies suited for field deployment and to streamline procurement and maintenance processes for the force. Organisers indicate the objectives include promoting a sustainable and self-reliant defence ecosystem for the Indian Army.

The Indian Army has been stressing the operational relevance of cutting-edge technologies and the need for continual innovation to meet evolving security challenges. The symposium will run until six May 2026 and is expected to serve as a bridge between defence forces, scientists, industry leaders and the academic community. Delegates will be invited to explore collaboration opportunities intended to translate laboratory solutions into fieldable systems.

The three-day gathering is structured to foster dialogue on requirements, testing and induction pathways while showcasing indigenous research and development across domains. Senior officials plan to review demonstrations and identify fast-track options for technologies demonstrating immediate applicability.
