Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani conducted an extensive review of infrastructure and development works being executed under Jammu Smart City Limited and stressed the need for timely completion of major projects ahead of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra. He was accompanied by the director of projects, senior officials and other members of the Jammu Smart City team during the visit. The review covered progress on transport, public amenities and tourism oriented projects across Jammu city.

The delegation inspected the TATA e-Bus Depot being developed under the FAME-II initiative as part of the PM e-Bus Sewa project and reviewed ongoing construction and site readiness. Officials outlined that modern electric bus infrastructure is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 160 million (mn) to strengthen eco-friendly public transport facilities in the city. The advisor commended the work and directed the authorities to expedite completion and inauguration so that services can be operational at the earliest. He noted that the smart city interventions are contributing to a cleaner, greener and more organised urban centre.

Attention then turned to the Waste to Wonder Park where officials described artistic monuments created from recycled materials and explained the intended recreational and educational role. The park is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 110 mn and officials indicated an expected completion date by the end of June 2026, with physical progress nearing 80 per cent. The advisor urged all concerned to make efforts to finalise the work before the commencement of the pilgrimage season so that pilgrims and tourists may also experience the attraction.

Officials said the park will feature 14 replica monuments created from scrap and recycled materials, including seven international monuments, five national landmarks and two representing Uttar Pradesh. They characterised the facility as the first of its kind in Jammu and anticipated it will promote waste recycling, environmental awareness and public recreation. The advisor reiterated the government commitment to accelerate urban development and deliver sustainable infrastructure and enhanced amenities for residents and visitors alike.
